- MEMBER OF THE GROUP
PI Natura Jadera
The public institution "Natura Jadera" was founded in 2001 by the Zadar County with the aim of managing protected areas of nature in its territory. Based on the Nature Protection Act, the institution manages a total of 12 protected areas - including four special reserves, two natural monuments, four significant landscapes and two monuments of park architecture - as well as dinosaur fossil sites. In addition, it has jurisdiction over as many as 96 ecological network areas, which also testifies to the exceptional biodiversity of the Zadar County.
Despite the small number of employees of only seven permanent employees, Natura Jadera successfully performs the demanding and responsible job of managing natural heritage. In professional circles, it is recognized as a competent, reliable and professional institution, although it operates with limited capacities. Its strength lies in the dedication and expertise of its team, as well as in a well-developed network of cooperation with scientific institutions, experts and associations active in the field of nature protection.
The number and diversity of protected areas and ecological networks not only confirm the importance of this institution but also indicate the wealth of natural values in Zadar County that require careful and professional management.
