PI Telašćica Nature Park
In the southeastern part of Dugi Otok lies the Telašćica Nature Park – a wondrous blend of wild nature and peaceful coves. Here, nature writes its own story: on one side, mighty “rocks” up to 161 meters high that plummet into the sea, and on the other, the quiet and protected Telašćica Bay, 8 kilometers long, is an ideal place to enjoy and escape from the wind.
At the heart of the park is the salt lake Mir, surrounded by pine forests and rocky cliffs. Although it is separated from the sea, the water in it is even saltier, and in summer it is warmer than the sea. Telašćica is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, and is also part of the European Natura 2000 network due to its target habitats such as posidonia meadows, reefs and Eumediterranean grasslands. Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling, cruising, diving and photo-hunting here. Don't miss the Grpašćak viewpoint, which offers one of the most beautiful views of the Adriatic, or the opportunity to taste local specialties in the nearby coves.
Telašćica – a place where nature speaks and silence rests.
